If you have a small or a large outdoor living area and you want to be able to add a seating area and a theater - you can do this! There are a few precautions you will need to take as well as some products you will need to buy to achieve this, but it can be done! Add an enchanting area to your nighttime garden with an open-air theater. Here are some tips to get you started.

- Location, Location, Location!: You hear this all the time in real estate, but it's true for theaters and outdoor living as well! If you don't have a portable screen or you cannot afford one (they can become very expensive!), there are other options available to you. You can use a wall surface or even a cover such as a backdrop, white tarp, curtain or even something as simple as a white sheet.

- Find the right light source: If you live in an area where there are a lot of lights coming from the street or the other houses around you, you could consider building an actual room for your theater or "blocking" it off so that no light gets in the room. Also, if you have visitors that will be using the room, make sure you use stake solar lights to light the path and help then get to their seats safe and sound, make sure the area you are doing this at has accessible power sources for all the plugs you are going to need and make sure its skirted away from your neighbors homes so that you don't bother them or have complaints about being too loud. Obviously if you live in a home that is literally 2 feet away from another home, this is probably not something you will want to do.

- Movie must haves: Obviously if you are going to do this, you will need a few products such as audio and visual sources. Some ideas include: screen, projector, speakers and a film source such as a DVD player. Once your projector and speakers are hooked up, adjust the image on the screen to ensure that it's centered and the picture will be large enough to see. Test the equipment before guests arrive to make sure it works.

- Calm and cozy!: If you have an outdoor furniture area for your theater you are going to have to find someplace to sit and hopefully you choose the comfortable option. You can choose a conversation set, cushioned or theater loungers, or sectionals for your outdoor living space. Then, accessorize with throw pillows, blankets, ottomans and an outdoor rug. Light candles or tiki torches for ambiance. Use a serving cart or side tables for refreshments and popcorn.
